Sherry Kay Schreiner-Beckwith MSN, RN, MS MCST is a licensed Professional Registered Nurse since 2006 in New Jersey and has been licensed under the Nurse Compact (NLC) since 2022 as a compact state nurse. Additionally, she has held a registered nurse licensure by endorsement in Connecticut since 2014. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Sacred Heart University, specializing in clinical nurse leadership.

Her clinical experience spans a wide range of healthcare settings, from childbirth to end-of-life care, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, home care, and childbirth centers. Sherry has also thrived in nurse educator roles, teaching in licensed practical nurse (LPN) and associate degree nurse (RN) education programs. Her teaching experience includes lecturing, simulation lab instruction, and clinical site education.

In 2020, Sherry earned an accredited Medical Cannabis Certificate from Pacific College and has actively pursued continuing education in cannabis medicine. She is a proud 2022 alumna of the first medical cannabis specialty master’s degree program in the United States. She holds a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, a degree she considers the crowned jewel alongside her master’s in nursing. Her dual degrees were an intentional step toward becoming a leader in cannabis nursing practice and education.

Sherry is a firm believer in a patient-centered holistic approach, empowering the mind, body, and spirit to achieve wellness driven by the client’s goals. She is passionate about advocating, supporting, and educating individuals to help them achieve personal wellness and an improved quality of life.

One of Sherry’s proudest achievements in nursing is her work as a lead author in writing the American Cannabis Nurse Association Scope and Standard of Practice for Cannabis Nursing and Affirmation of Practice. Her contributions led to the American Nurses Association officially recognizing Cannabis Nursing as a specialty in September 2024. As a dedicated member of ANA (American Nurses Association) and ACNA (American Cannabis Nurses Association), she looks forward to the future development of board certification for Cannabis Nurse Specialists.

Through Cannabis HealTHCare Navigation, Sherry offers personalized virtual consultations, educational sessions for healthcare providers and medical students, and specialized cannabis coaching with medical oversight to ensure safe cannabis use, avoiding drug-to-drug interactions. She is also available for speaking engagements, podcasts, and guest expert appearances on cannabis nursing and healthcare.
